Rationale : As the world changes, so too must the means by which states conduct their international relations and advance their national interests which are the elements of diplomacy. Diplomacy is at present undergoing a major transformation, close to a revolution, in response to the recent rapid change in information technology and the sudden explosion of new international "non state actors". The Internet and other digital technologies are changing the conduct of world affairs and how political interests are pursued. Faster velocity of information and the diversification of information sources are complicating international diplomacy. Non state actors are fully utilising technology affecting nations' reputation and international standings. This conference will reveal the serious impact of IT and internet on the traditional diplomacy and how diplomats must react to protect their nations' interest and influence international relations.
